Lamberto Avellana was born in 1915 in Bontoc in the Philippines. A graduate of Arts in 1938, he founded the Baranguay Theater Guide in 1939. That year, he made his first film, Sa-kay. He shoots 70 films. In 1976, he was named the Philippines' first National Film Artist. He died in 1991 in Manila.
